Sample Wedding Reception

0:00 START TIME

In most cases the bridal party will still be in the process of working with the photographer.  During this time guests will begin to arrive and we suggest a program that consists of classical, jazz, ballads, or light rock while the event develops.

1:00 Bridal Party Introductions

Please refer to our information page and have this completed at least two weeks prior to the wedding. Remember to use phonetic spelling on the names that may be more difficult to pronounce.

1:35 The First Dance

This should be a song that is special to the both of you. It may tell you a story about your relationship, or may be the song that was playing on the radio during your first date.

1:38 Bridal Party Dance

You may wish to ask the bridal party to join you on the dance floor, or you may pick an additional song to dance to at this time.

1:43 Grace/Blessing

This is optional. You may wish to choose invited clergy or you possibly may wish to honor a member of your family by asking them to perform this duty for you.

1:45 Toast

The best man generally handles this duty, but there may be other members of the family that may wish to speak at this time.

1:50 Dinner

2:45 Open Dancing

Out of the dinner hour we will begin to pick up the tempo slightly, then flow into the items that you and your guests have asked us to play.

3:45 Groom-Bride/Parent Dances

Please refer to our song request sheet.

3:50 Cake Cutting

This is where the fun starts, but remember to play nice!

3:55 Bouquet/Garter Toss

These events can be done at any time during the event, either together or separately. We have found though, that over the years, it is easier to get everyone together one time. This makes the work of the photographer and videographer much easier as well.

Dance of the Decades

For those couples who choose not to have a bouquet/garter toss, they can substitute the Dance of the Decades. The Dance of the Decades brings all married couples to the dance floor. As the song progresses we ask those who are married 10, 20 years and so on to leave the dance floor. The couple that is remaining and married the longest gets the bouquet.

4:00 More Dancing!

4:55 Final Dance & Goodbyes

We will thank your guests for sharing the day with you.

5:00 The Honeymoon Starts!
